Dog Walker Dan's story
I grew up in a rural setting with pet dogs, cats and rabbits. My business journey began after "inheriting" two abandoned miniature pinscher puppies in 2013 while living in Arizona. I returned to live in Toronto in 2014 and started operating as "Dog Walker Dan". I have a deep passion for dogs and a commitment to provide exceptional care for dogs entrusted to me. I continually educate myself on animal behaviour and wellness to enhance my services. My approach is simple: treat every dog as if they were my own. This means personalized attention, care, and lots of love during our dog walks.
My university degree is in Kinesiology and my past career was in the fitness industry. I was a very high level long distance runner until I was 40. This included winning numerous races and becoming a two-time silver medalist at the National Masters' (running) Championships. My point? I'm extremely disciplined and have a phenomenal work ethic that I now apply to my Mimico Dog Walking business.
Safety
Safety is paramount, I always check leashes and harnesses and monitor each dog's behaviour. My vehicle is a large, spacious climate-controlled SUV with safety barriers. I do NOT allow dogs in the front seat of my vehicle, since this is not just an obvious safety issue but it also breaches insurance coverage.
Value
Safe, reliable, and personalized dog walks for your dog's happiness. No corner cutting and definitely never any smoking or sitting down at the job site! I tend to under-promise and over-deliver in a world where the opposite tends to be common.
